Purpose of this site

This site is designed to give the beginning/intermediate guitarist some information on how to use alternate tunings. These tunings are readily available elsewhere, but some topics are often overlooked:

What chords should I actually learn how to play in this tuning?
Why can't I get the "sweet" sound on my guitar?
Why am I constantly going out of tune?

Because so many guitarists are self-taught, it's possible to learn how to play songs without ever learning how to properly change a string. There are an endless number of books/cds/dvds in the marketplace relating to playing the guitar, but very few take the time to illustrate this most basic step.
